Auger Conveyor (Screw Conveyor)

Introduction

The Auger Conveyor is specifically designed for handling biomass materials, providing an efficient solution for transporting a wide variety of bulk materials. It is suitable for applications that involve the movement of materials like wood chips, sawdust, rice husk, Napier grass, and other agricultural residues. This conveyor system is robust, flexible, and customizable, making it an ideal choice for biomass handling in different industrial environments.

Technical Details

  • Materials Handled: Wood chips, sawdust, rice husk, wheat straw, bagasse, Napier grass, corn stalks, coconut husk and shell, coffee husk, peanut shells, cotton stalks, palm husk, forestry waste, mulberry sticks, sunflower stalks, bamboo dust, sugarcane leaves, and paddy straw.
  • Material Construction:
    • Stainless Steel (SS): Corrosion-resistant, suitable for applications requiring durability.
    • Mild Steel (MS): Cost-effective for most biomass materials.
  • Capacity: Up to 20 tons per hour.
  • Auger Diameter: Typically ranges from 150 mm to 500 mm, depending on material density and flow rate.
  • Screw Pitch: Between 150 mm to 300 mm, tailored to the bulk material’s characteristics.
  • Design Options:
    • Trough Types: U-shaped or tubular trough design with optional cover for dust control.
    • Length: Customizable, ranging from 3 meters to 30 meters, depending on installation needs.
  • Motor Power: Typically ranges from 5 kW to 30 kW, depending on conveyor capacity and length.
  • Installation: Can be installed horizontally or inclined up to 45 degrees.
  • Finish: Polished surface for SS or painted finish for MS to protect against corrosion.
  • Drive System: Can be direct or chain-driven, with options for single or multiple discharge points, including flow control gates.
  • Bearings: Equipped with heavy-duty, sealed bearings designed to handle wear from biomass materials.

Uses

  • Biomass Handling: Used for transporting biomass materials like wood chips, sawdust, rice husk, and other agro-residues.
